After being a Pre-K teacher for 2 years; encountering obstacles that could alter a job status, occurred often. There was a sudden instance of being ill-prepared to perform some duties that were non-existent on paper. Those duties include, teacher/administration relationships, home visits, engaging in difficult conversations with parents and visits from child protective services. Higher education institutions focus on theory, instructional practices but not relationships. There was an urge to create realistic viewpoints that are not learned in professional studies.

These ideas were originally intended as a foundational college course for Early Childhood Education in 2015. These ideas were brought to a favored professor, Dr. Huey Lin, where she offered the opportunity to put these ideas into practice. It was decided that a few of her classes could be used as a trial run. Not to mention, she offered to pay for services out of her pocket. That was the fuel needed to make this idea come to fruition. This was easier than anticipated but we were unsuccessful in execution. Our careers began to evolve, the class was deferred.

Propelling forward, the ideas developed into an entire paradigm that no longer fits the role of a college course. Founded in 2023, Business of Babies, Inc. allows educators to understand practical practices and how to utilize them.

We now have the intentional mission to raise morale, integrity and expectations of early childhood educators across the United States.
